996 - How to lock the doors and disconnect the battery?

I leave my 996 unused and powered off most of the time. Is there a way that I can lock the car and then disconnect the battery without the alarm going off?

If I disconnect the battery without the key in the ignition then the alarm goes off. If I leave the key in the ignition I can disconnect the battery without the alarm going off but then I cant lock the passenger door? As i'm typing this, maybe the answer is the door lock button with the drivers door open...

I do it all the time, as long as the car is garaged.

Key in ignition. Drivers' door open, so window glass is slightly retracted. Disconnect battery. Remove key, shut door, DON'T lock bonnet...
