I appreciate its impossible to diagnose a problem without inspecting it in person, but thought I'd try get some thoughts on this.

I have an Accord CL7 and developed a judder when accelerating after quite a hard session round Combe. Immediately everyone said driveshafts.
The judder was only when on throttle and only really happened high up the rev range (exaggerated massively in Vtec).

With OEM driveshafts costing £1500+ for a set, I managed to bag some second hand shafts for a fraction of the price and got them installed. Judder disappeared from all gears except 2nd gear.

I then had a new (aftermarket) drive shaft fitted on the offside, and a new CV fitted on the nearside – don't ask, I wanted both shafts replaced but a cock up in ordering meant I ended up with one new shaft and one new CV.

The judder has now moved from high up in the rev range, to low down (between 2-3krpm) and only in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Now I'm battling with just biting the bullet and getting a fresh set of OEM shafts and hoping it solves the issue altogether, but anxious that I could spend the best part of £2000 and find that something else is causing the issue.

Could something else be going on here? Or does the cause>affect behaviour that I've experienced so far in tinkering with the shafts suggest that it MUST be a driveshaft issue?

Is there a "support bearing" in the middle of the longer shaft?

That would be my first thought.

Yes mate it has a half shaft bearing. I'm pretty sure this wasn't changed when they did the offside shaft. Reckon thats worth a punt? Think its only about £40.
