MoT check does not recognise a car

I've seen a car online that might suit MrsIA2. I decided to have a look at the MoT history to inform my contact with dealer.

It's a 57 plate, a well known marque and a fairly common car.

Any idea why it would not recognise the vehicle?

If you have access to an HPi check for the car, it may be worth checking for any reg number changes and trying the previous ones in case of some sort of glitch not linking the correct one on the MOT system.

You'd know it by doing an HPI, as suggested by one of the other replies. It's probably had a recent plate change and DVLA not yet updated.

Don't really feel inclined to spend any money on checks unless I'm serious about buying.

ETA: MoT expired Oct '18 and untaxed since Sept '18

ETA: Odd that the .gov websites have differing info.

But the registration plate was valid. What about vehicle tax - it should either show as taxed or SORNed I guess.
