I've had a bmw sitting on my drive for yonks, had so many timewasters wanting to buy but don't turn up. Decided, I could get a lot more just breaking it. So that is what I will do. Question I have is, which courier to use?

I've used UPS in the past and been billed extra for shipping items that aren't in a box. Ie.. wrapping in bubble wrap or black bin bag, such as a tyre.

Also I don't know how some people are making money. For example, I saw a parcel shelf sell for £20 buy it now with free shipping.

Surely the shipping is £10 on such a large item? + fees they're probably making just £6 at most. Pretty pointless.

Unless theres a cheap courier I don't know about?

I tried them recently when sending alloy wheels. Way WAY too expensive, not sure why so many people use them.

Yeah, parcelmonkey just brings up the regular couriers, UPS,PARCELFORCE...etc whom I currently use.

Im just wondering if theres any £5 or so couriers to ship big shaped, but not necessarily heavy items. (such as parcel shelves..etc)

I used to sell courier. No one wants the big parts now. It's all about them being convonveyable so no handling.

Tuffnells might be a good shout.

No one moves ugly parcels for a fiver now

You can send a 5kg parcel up to 120cm long using Hermes print in store for £2.95 , only £20 insurance but you can increase it on the terminal , they do have some restrictions on car parts though

For really big things I use parcelforce through interparcel , drop off at a post office , they take up to 30kg , I took something in that weighed 25kg , saw the 8 stone girl on the other side of the counter and thought somebody hasn't thought this through

Literally what i always think, as my local post offices are tiny. If the parcels big, I just take the printed label out the clear label pocket, let them scan it, then i seal it in the label pocket (not sure what they're called).

I'm looking for a way to ship a bike to sweden. A friend of mine lives there and really wants a Hoy 24" for his kid, but we cannot find any couriers who will ship a bike box at a reasonable price.

paisleycouriers want 200 quid!

I assume it cant be that expensive, as places like CRC and wiggle do it all the time.

Any suggestions?

I was getting quotes of £80 to deliver a bike in the UK so £200 to Sweden doesn't sound extortionate , if it's not new get a bike box from Halfords , condense it as much as you can then get an accurate quote on weight and dimensions

I've found transglobalexpress to be more competitive on odd shaped international deliveries

Have you tried shiply? you may come across a company traveling there often.
