Hi all,

Looking at buying a new car, kinda set on a 1 series 15 plate and newer because of the facelift makes it look much better and M sport for the LED DRL halo lights. First question, save, pcp or get a loan? Whats best, heading towards a loan as just spent all my savings on a deposit on a house and will take forever to save now, I know its preference but from experience I would like to know best.

Another question, I really like 3 series, but on autotrader I cannot really find these with the LED Halo lights, it's essential for me I dont know why because I think its really cool, perhaps just me but this is what I want really. Does anyone know when these were implemented into 3 series aka which year and what model variant.

If no one knows what I mean because of incorrect terminology.

here is a photo of what I mean: https://gyazo.com/1ceffaa40fc7835b5e1d6c6438a5fc8b

EDIT - To note, I am going to test drive a 5dr DSG Seat Leon Cupra on Saturday on a lease deal for £250pm and 10k miles pa, however the bmw is more sensible to get a loan as it will work out cheaper as i will have some equity with the car at the end of the loan. If this is a stupid idea, looking for advice on this too.

Thanks,
Paul

I really don’t rate the 1 series. 3 is a lot better.
LEDs are cool, think what you may mean are the changes with LCI , facelift.
Some standard , some an option.
Seems to be Autumn 2015 for build date , so look at 65 and 16 plates for what’s standard and what has been optioned.

Don’t know SEATs.

I love BMWs but that Leon Cupra deal is a better buy for sure IMO. Gets you into a brand new performance hatch with warranty. A 15-plate 1-series will age quickly and has the potential for problems out of warranty.

Yeah this was my concern to pay out for x amount of money and it go pop in a few months. Unlikely of course.

Then I have a lease and have nothing after two years too.. swings n roundabouts really. The seat does look great fun though. Test drove one today and my god it's quick. Don't really like what they have done with the 2019 model though. The alloys don't look anywhere near as good on the new ones see below.

And the new ones. ....
