Hello guys.
I'm looking for some advice as my head has been chocker for a few months now running through many different options.
First, bit of background. I have a lovely A4 66 plate. It's the 2 litre diesel ultra s line with nice spec and goes lovely. I have two kids under 3 though they rarely go in my car as all the seats and that are in the Mrs focus and as to this point we don't drive long distances with them as the youngest still hates the car.
My commute is 25 miles each way a roads and motorways and is pretty straightforward. I'm in a bit of negative equity given the length of deal I signed up to and where I am with it but that is something I am comfortable with. Previous cars have been Audi A4 petrol years back, 2.5 litre z4 and a boring Evoque. Two hair dressers cars
So, I want something fun, luxury but not gonna be a target on the drive. I live in a nice area but was out off an Audi S5 a few months back because of the scare stories
I also considered a 440i but assume the 4 changes not long after the new three and the cabin is a bit old fashioned when compared to my current car.
I also love the A7 but that feels it would tick the luxury nonend but wouldn't scratch the fun itch so makes sense once my kids are older.
Budget wise I could stretch to M4 money, but obviously anything less is a benefit as it's more cash in the pocket. I have been thinking new as I value the worry free motoring, warranties etc
What I'm looking for is any advice from those who've had similar thoughts, maybe some examples of alternatives to the obvious that still tick boxes or even if people who know the market more than me who would suggest wait for the new X car (X as in could be anything) as that is cool.
Also wrighting up if deals are good now with the impending collapse of the world due to brexit etc

You can buy anything up to three years old then extend the manufacturer's warranty with the M3/4 make sure you get a competition pack car as you may find the standard one (as I did) disappointing the lack if traction not feeling special at low speed & a fair few other little things saw me sell it within four months of purchase.
Lexus IS F these are pretty much bulletproof & a fun steer as well as having Lexus running costs with warranties still available on the last of the line models.

Infiniti Q60 this is more along of the S5/440i territory but are worth a look.
