The young woman across the road from my mum is extending her house. The extension is substantial and my mum is unable to grasp how a single woman with a child can afford to do this. Mum is old, she was a housewife, she is not computer literate and her experience of work is limited.

"She has the same job as your Tom."
"She designs lighting circuitry?"
"No! She works from home."

So, there we are, everyone who works from home does the same job.

Tom doesn't work from home.

Tom designs lighting circuitry. What the girl across the road does isn't known. She does have two different gentlemen callers. They come on different days. This isn't helping, is it?
............

For years I had occasional bouts of vertigo. One day at work I was invited to explain my absence on the previous day by the office know-all. I said I had an attack of vertigo. In a voice loud enough for everyone to hear he said with mock incredulity, "You had a sudden attack of a fear of heights?"

From the evidence you have described, one can deduce that the young woman is a Boudoir Techniques Consultant, in a quite highly paid position* that generates sufficient capital to allow her to extend her business premises. Top marks for her entrepreneurial skills. thumbup

* She may well adopt several different positions, depending on market demands.

My mother is very similar in assumption and outlook, she however had a very well paid exec job for a huge supermarket chain in the US and retired pretty early (late 40s). There is currently a chap 2doors down from where mother and father live who is probably roughly doubling the size of his house with an extension (which others in the street have also done) after just purchasing it and all I get are complaints about how dare he have builders and tradespeople making noise between the hours of 10am and 4pm mon to fri and how he obviously can’t afford it as he’s only just bought the house.

This is on top of the “it was perfect inside and needed nothing doing to it” as she knew a previous owner some 15yrs and 2 previous owners ago.

Oh and she refuses to accept parcels for this specific house because of her assumptions! Bonkers and needs more to think about - proper curtain twitcher! I feel sorry for father at times!

Have you thought about mixing the raisins, sultanas and nuts with melted chocolate and pouring the mix into some sort of mould to create an easily portable snack or treat?

So you reckon she's on the game.

Or dealing drugs.

Lots of other possibilities as well.

I suggest you send your mother round on a fishing (old school) expedition.

Obviously we need pics as well.

It needs refining, Dicky. There is far too much glenrobbo content for my liking. :yuk:

And what about the ChoccoRobbonut Whip?

As the new thread is within the administrative catchment of the Trivtern Hundreds it is allowed under the legislative arrangement conferred by King John. He was on his way to Runnymede and needed friends and pie and a pint. The arrangement has never been repealed.
