Just in case you missed it

Stuck at home in the pouring rain and I accidentally stumbled on this old video and watched it yet again.

I thought I’d post it just in case anyone missed it as it’s such a little gem - I fact I think it may be my favourite car video; I think HC is a brilliant journalist, he’s so easy to watch and the production quality is absolutely brilliant. IMHO, he manages to convey exactly how I feel about manual cars in such a gentle, clever and refined way; It never ceases to entertain and make me smile.

If somehow you haven’t seen it and you love manual cars (especially of the GT variety), then you’re in for a treat. More likely that you’ve seen it, but what the hell, maybe you’d like to watch it again.

If anyone has any other personal favorates that some of us may have missed, then please post here - thanks in advance.

Great video and compelling arguments for a manual shift. Even more applicable to the 997.2 RS imho but, thankfully we are not all the same, so it’s PDK for me on the 991 but I’m sure the manual is quite a thing.... :-)

Having had the PDK version in the vid below, I wouldn't look back. Some get all soppy eyed at the 'return' of a manual box but if I don't see a manual box ever again, it will be too soon.

the strangest movie imo, he says they want to make the best dual clutch gear box In the world but the vid shows very little if any of the car changing gear !

worse the vid changes scene before every change !!! could not watch it all... PDK vids as dull as the cars ;-)

I still really like watching Chris Harris’s first take on the 991.1 GT3. Lots of new aspects for him to digest, PDK, RWS, first GT3 with non-Mezger engine, electric steering. There were a lot of unknowns around this time, and as a GT3 fan, you can sense his excitement, and indeed relief, as he gets to grips with this early pre-production engineering car (note non Alcantara wheel etc) and was not disappointed!

I might not have a GT3 but mine has a manual gearbox and I whole heartedly agree with everything in that video.

Nice video. The PDK on the Gen 2 is fantastic. It really suits the motor. Glad I chose it over the manual one that I was offered, but I'm sure I'd have been happy with that too.

I wouldn't say that I'm done with manual boxes; I'm still tempted to get a V12 Vantage S with 7 speed manual instead of the M5, but that's only because the auto looks pants in comparison to PDK (or M-DCT).
