Sales person was trying to give me that patter earlier today.. anyone know if it's true or not? Saying they don't get as much commission since the cars coming from another branch?

I assume the only answer to that is, "well I'll go direct to that other branch so their salesman can get full whack".

Why does it matter to a buyer?

Even if true, quite frankly,so what? A buyer wants a car, what the seller gets for it if they're commission based is not the buyer's issue.

Does the salesperson not want to sell you that car then? I mean if they're with you and your committed, it's still a sale, surely?

I bought my newer Mondeo from a well known Ford dealer. It wasn't at my local branch in Stockport, it was up in Preston. The Stockport branch lied to me and said it was sold, so I phoned the Preston branch who confirmed it wasn't. So, since I wanted the car, I went up there and bought it from them.

It was later explained to me that this chain consisted of many smaller dealerships previously bought, and they were all still separate legal entities trading under the same brand. Hence one would have had to 'purchase' the car off the other, and the margins having done this are very low.

Utterly stupid state of affairs.

My worst customer service has either come from Audi dealerships or an AC dealership and they are all terrible in my experience.

They wanted me to walk through and provisionally sign up to finance agreement (I don't know how you can provisionally sign up to it...) Before I test drive a Renault 200 because boy racers just waste their time...... I did say I had come in my Z4M as they had seen ...... Needless to say I never did drive a 200.
