I'm doing that route but I'm on the 0845 sailing on Thursday - arrives something like two-ish.

Barreti,
My daughter and I are overnighting in Caen on Wednesday night. Aiming to get on the road by 9-10ish.

Join us for breakfast if you want -Hotel Crocus just off the ring road to the north of Caen centre.

We're in with the TVRCC Northants crowd in Houx - yourself?

I have been on that ferry for the last 10 years. This year though we decided to go Newhaven Dieppe and when that got cancelled got forced onto Dover Calais.

Thanks for the invite Nick. Might just take you up on that. Likely to be early though as we arrive at 7:15am

I haven't got camping a ticket yet. Missed out on the TVRCC allocation so I'm scanning the ads at the minute. Wouldn't mind Houx with the TVR guys but have you seen the prices they go for

Barreti -
OK, I would imagine we'll be stumbling around by 8 am, which reallistically, would be the time you are off the ferry, and down to anywhere near Caen itself.
Your call - give us a shout if you want.

Harry -
No it wasn't me. Was on a ferry last weekend - but that was over to Cork from Swansea.
(Great welcome for Tivs in Ireland).

We're leaving Cherbourg/St.Malo on Thursday morning to travel down - few Tiv's and other makes.

You're welcome to join the convoy

Give me a shout if you need a meeting point

Nawarne - I've consulted the navigator and the man from Kegworth he say yeah. I figure we could meet and grab breakfast, do the 'yours is nice' bit then pootle off.
Have you got a route in mind? I want to get down there reasonably quickly but want to enjoy the drive too so I'm not up much for a motorway dash - how about you.

Ian,
Fine, we'll see you Thursday AM at the Hotel Crocus. You can download a map if you go to MULTIMAP europe and search for Caen Hotels. Basically it's just off the ring road to the North of the centre.

Route -wise I think its a case of the N138 - - or the N138, which is the main road from Caen to the South, so will be well patrolled by Les Flics, but I don't want to break any records. If we get to LM early afternoon having had a few fuel stops (car and passangers)that would be good. I think the distance is just about 150 miles
Nick.
