E90 318d N47T - intermittent uneven idle
Discussion
Hello
I have a very weird issue with an intermittent rough idle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JCi6WswfBc
The car is a July 2010 E90 318D SE N47T 143bhp Right hand drive Saloon
To describe the issue in more detail:
- Occurs randomly around 5-10mins after a cold start
- if the car has been driven the previous 1-2 days it does not happen at all
- the moment i touch the throttle it disappears - even if I only bring the RPM to 1000 from idle it runs smooth
- not affected by fuel level in the tank (so I do not think it is DPF related as it has also happened with the fuel reserve light on)
- Do not think it is injector related as there is no difference to consumption, acceleration, speed or anything - it runs as good as it always has (I have owned it for just over 6 years)
Main reason why I am writing is that this has been going on for more than an year now and it starts to drive me ever so crazy. No garage has been able to diagnose anything wrong with it.
Any comments/ideas are appreciated.
Thanks!!!
