Got to the 911 this morning and the battery was dead as a dodo, I was actually about to connect my trickle charger!

Is there any chance connecting the trickle charger to the 12v socket in the car will revive the battery or do I need to connect a proper charger to the battery? Difficult at present cos I can't open the luggage compartment!

I've had the same in the past & no problem with a CTEK to the cigarette lighter. Just don't allow it to happen too often

It depends how dead it really is. Try it and see.

a footmark to this thread, I connected the porsche trickle charger long enough to get the sufficient charge to open the hood, then I atttached a regular charger to the battery terminals. got the car started but only problem was no sound from the speakers, sat nav etc working fine but just mute!!

due to adverse weathe I didndnt use the car but left it connected to the trickle charger

after about 3 weeks the trickle charger indicated the battery had gone from orange half full to green full full

to my astonishment when I started the car the sound was full on, happy happy days!!
