A year ago I bought a 1-owner, 150k (!) mile, facelift V6 direct injection Cayenne.

Apart from a broken window cable it's been good as gold, up until last month when it threw the engine light on.

My code reader said it was the cam sensor (only has one on the later engine, as opposed to the 3.2's two cam sensors).

I replaced the sensor and all was good for a couple of days, but then the light cam back on for the same fault code.

I took it to a specialist who plugged it in to his Porsche laptop and said the battery was on its last legs and that could be the issue because lots of faults can be down to low voltage under cranking (which I agree with as I had it on an M5 a couple of years ago). So we fitted a new battery and he did a factory reset. He said it's only 50:50 chance of sorting it, but the battery had to be eliminated.

Sure enough, the light came back on on the next journey. So before I book it in for a more detailed check, I thought I'd try my luck on here to see if anyone had come across the same problem before?

I know it's a long shot, but you never know!
