Just speccing up a new car and our options are slipping the whole package in at a fiver short of the £40k threshold.

However, when we add on the service pack and extended warranty the configurator is showing the RRP as including the additional costs i.e. over £40k.

Firstly, I assume that the £40k "list price" is inclusive of options? Everything I've seen suggests so.

And secondly surely items such as service pack costs aren't included? That would be absurd.

The price that drives the tax threshold is effectively the p11d value so includes options but not road tax.

Ime, service plans and extended warranties are not included in it either.
