this is my 3rd impreza guys, ive had it about 1 1/2 years now.

the guy i bought it from had the engine built by scoobyclinic after the previous build by the previous owner failed. the cars 1st engine obviously failed (as do most 2.5's) so it was sent to a company called seditas cars in ayrshire on the 31/03/2014. the following work was done....

-to remove engine and send to john Mckean for full strip/overhaul and rebuild using forged pistons, acl main and big end bearings, arp rod bolts, new high pressure oil pump, new modine, new head gaskets, all new seals (genuine). turbo sent to cr turbos for strip and hybrid rebuild.billet comp wheel, new actuator and machined comp and turbine housings.the total for this was £2897.64. mileage was @ 40,801.

ive never heard of seditas cars before and i have no idea of the quality of their work but i have quite alot of receipts from them for mapping/geo set-up and the fitting of various parts like denso injectors/samco hose/dump valve all of which means nothing now as the car has a new engine and has had full suspension overhaul.

the rebuild from seditas cars lasted around 25k so make of that what you will.

the car was then bought by a guy called jack in early 2016,unfortunate for him the engine failed in his ownership so he sent it to scoobyclinic on 04/09/2016 to have the following....

-forged 2.5 with closed deck block from scooby-clinic
-mahle 2618 pistons
-std rods with arp rod bolts
-11mm arp headstuds
-new crank
-new race bearings throughout
-heads skimmed
-uprated valve springs and retainers
-cosworth head gaskets
-egr blanking kit
-complete gasket and seal kit

it was also mapped by them and made 351bhp and 370ftlbs.

the car had hsd coilovers on it when i bought it which were shot so after xmas i sent the car to chevron motorsport to have the following done....

-full set of tein flex z coilovers
-front and rear whiteline anti roll bars
-rear caster bush kit
-front drop links
-bump steer kit
-camber bolts
-new gearbox oil
-full geo set up
-rotten back plates removed

the car sits on 18" xxr 527 wheel powdercoated in a custom dark grey colour, ive had all four brembo calipers refurbished by godspeed and had their pf pads and g-hook discs.

interior has a damd flat bottom steering wheel and a full set of defi guages.
ive had a full non resonated 3" afterburner exhaust system with a vortex backbox fitted to her by scoobyworld and a new set of their mudflaps to tidy up the exterior

i have had the exterior fully machine polished to remove swirl marks etc and it comes up a beauty for 11 years old.

next on the car is another rebuild as i really want around 475bhp and as mine is still on standard rods they will be maxed at 400bhp so im just debating this as i cant stop thinking about getting a f10 bmw m5................

pics on their way

for some reason i cant add pics they are too large from my phone or my laptop.

the original engine failed (if you know anything about subaru's you will know all about the chocolate 2.5 engine)

the rebuild lasted 25k and it failed (from what i was told it was a very poor rebuild)

the current engine runs fine and has covered 11k BUT it only has standard rods in it, the previous owner was never going to take the car past 350bhp so didnt want to shell out £600 on a decent set of rods

i now want closer to 500bhp so i have to have the block split and some decent rods put in along with fresh bearings/piston rings/head gaskets/timing kit

auto-finesse snow foam and an iron out session.......

all dries off and finished with a quick detail spray wax by auto-finesse which gives great results and beading.....

Looks great.

Will you be running a different engine management system when you go for higher power?

Whatever the cost, a 500hp forged Subaru likely has less bork factor than a V10 M5!

Bork factor?

Yes it will more than likely have either simtek or link g4 ecu.

Still debating if I should continue with it or not as I fancy something comfy and fast like an m5/rs5 etc but I think I would miss the scooby too much

There are quite a few recognisable names on PH smile

Weird he went to the expense of a CDB conversation but not uprated rods...maybe he ran out of cash?!

It was that plus he never wanted to go over 400 BHP. The original block was beyond saving and the only one spare that scoobyclinic had was a closed decked block. It's a really good spec engine apart from the rods

Mahle 2618 pistons
New crank
Arp rod bolts
Arp head studs
ACL bearings throughout
Cosworth bead gaskets
Rebuilt heads using updated valve springs

He had the vf43 turbo fettled with aswell with a billet wheel etc

I will be putting in omega pistons from roger Clark and some arrow rods along with a 14mm head stud conversion.

Turbo wise will be either the sc42 billet or md321t from lateral performance.

so the car has been sat for about 5 weeks as ive dislocated my shoulder and been unable to drive so the battery has gone flat, i have bought myself one of those lithium ion battery booster packs and a battery conditioner aswell so she will always be topped up especially as i only use the car maybe twice a week.

Hmmm I had that DAMD wheel in mine, in fact I had hawkeye dials and the same gauge pod too so it's looking all too familiar in there.

Awesome cars, feel like I need another one soon.
