just got - Cerb speed six

Hi there, never done one of these forums before. just bought a Cerb speed six, great car, and as fast as you like. wanted to know anythings i need to keep an eye on and what to do when things go tits up (any cheats, shorts cuts etc?) had a look through the pages and there dosn't seem to be many speed six owners, must be some out there. thanks in advance, hope to chat with some of you in future. tim

Be prepared for a few weeks of "2 cylinders missing" type gags! , just remember it's all just light hearted banter.

Your a Cerbera owner now, whatever spec, and also a PHer.

The guys (and gals) on these forums have a huge amount of collective information, and are always willing to share their experiences.

My bit of advise would be to take it really easy at first. Get used to the power you have, and remember!! they're a very different beast in the wet!!!!
I'd also advise you get some sort of breakdown recovery, if you haven't already.

Yeah there is that, mine is a Speed 0 :-). Won't budge, can't budge it, took 3 of us to push it as a few slight bumps to get over!!

And I wasnt taking the pee out of speed six's either......

Thanks all for the replys, nice to hear from so many like minded owers. will post a pic or two when i've worked out how to! Yep i have to admit that the Lotus was good, and at 22 years old it could still see off most Hot hatch/Sports cars. The thing that won the TVR for me was grunt, and lots of it! Oh, and the noise. Is the TVR Car Club worth joining? hope to be a usefull contributor in the future, and i look forward to the trials and tribulations of ownership. Speak to you all soon. tim

the tvrcc can be very useful. they have a huge number of members circa 5000 so the help available is huge. the number and variety of events is also massive. My advice is join and get along to some of their track days

Hi Lundy,
Welcome to the underprivileged sub-set of Cerbera owners who get treated like untouchables by the V8 lot. You will soon get used to it, but remember the great and classic British sportcars all had straight 6's. The V8 is an American obsession sold to the Brits fom Buick via Rover! (that should get them going).
Hope you can come to CREAM - see thread above and on the Cerbera Register.

PS Does anyone know exactly how many PHer's own Speed 6 Cerbs

welcome to the cerby S6 club, don't take no crap from V8ers we are all Cerby fans be it with a 8 or 6 cylinder and i have had mine from new but have had problems (see profile) but when it runs you will love to drive it as much as any V8er will so you just enjoy it.

Welcome indeed - you'll love the car and suggest you just take heed of all the good advice re: warming her up properly etc. Mine's 26000k miles up on original engine and is running as well as ever.

Tim, welcome, suggest you do a couple of searches on "suspensions", "Nitrons" and "Joospeed" before trying the 'ring. Or even Bedford.
