Nerve root block

I underwent this procedure at the end of last year and had my first pain free month in 4 years. It was wonderful. The pain is starting to creep back (not anywhere near the levels I had before) and the specialist has booked me in for a repeat procedure in February.
Has anyone on here had this twice and did it permanently fix you?
As an aside I developed a pretty nasty addiction to Tramadol - please be really careful with this drug.

I also had one just before Christmas and it's wearing off about a month later.

Luckily, fingers crossed my physio seems to finally be making inroads for the first time in over 18 months.

I don't think a second injection is intended to cure anything, it just buys more time for you to work on the root cause of whatever is bothering you.

Thanks for the reply (thought I was on my own with this one). My specialist has told me the second one could lead to it being sorted) or the next step is full on surgery.
Since the first nerve block my quality of life has improved no end. I can ride my sportsbike, swing a golf club (restricted power) and horse play with my son.
I'm actually looking forward to the next procedure as the results are instant and life changing.
I had just about given up hope after 4 years (and a lot of money and experts) had done NOTHING.

What is your specific issue (if you don't mind saying).

I was so sceptical about the injection but like you it was night and day, one of the most effective drugs/treatments I've ever had for anything but I personally found the process horrific (but I'm a big baby with needles)! Really would like to avoid having another one, but they're so good it would be hard to turn one down if I start struggling again.

It is a trapped nerve between C4 and C5 vertebrae which arose from pushing 30+ large motorcycles backwards into a bike shop over a couple of years.
i think. Don't let the fear of needles put you off. My specialist puts me out cold. Don't know anything about it.
