My girlfriend has been offered a pretty large manufacturer backed discount on a new car. I can see that trying to haggle for more money off is probably a no no, but are we likely to be able to squeeze any free “extras” like mats, roof bars etc into what is already a superb deal?

Not sure what difference that would make, but it’s a Suzuki

Yes, the discount we have been offered is several thousand pounds better than CarWow

Not yet, I thought I would ask if anyone else can offer an opinion based on personal experience as either a buyer or seller.

Unlikely you will get any further discount, Working for Suzuki when we have the NHS deals we get a handling fee of about £250 so I doubt you will get any more discount.

Can you go to any Suzuki retailer?

I used to work for a car manufacturer and in theory we could go anywhere to use the vouchers we got but in practice the dealers near the factories were best set up for it - some were more interested than others and would offer minor incentives.

Any Suzuki dealer can do it, its just a matter if they want to for such small handling fees.

No Problem good luck and I think at best ask for a set of mats that would be accepted I think.

With the NHS deals, do you still get stung with BIK tax as well?

Sorry to hijack with my own question...

I've been looking at buying a new Suzuki and my wife works for NHS. Is this discount available at all dealers/models or is it just a limited deal?

Many thanks

Hi all dealers do the NHS discount with Suzuki, the car would need to be in your wifes name and offers are on a quarterly basis.

Is the Suzuki deal significantly better than could be achieved any other way?

One of my daughters works in the NHS and she and I have both looked at deals on various things from time to time and came to the conclusion that it's not worth bothering.

Yes this is deffo the best way the cash discount is by far the best and you can still get a 6.9% with Suzuki also on top of the discount.
