Hello, looking to get a Gold GTE for my wife. Will probably have to be a pre-facelift model.

Does anybody know if the remote heating function comes as standard. My wife sometimes goes to the gym early and it would be nice to jump straight into a defrosted, warm car.

Thanks.

I have it on the Passat GTE. You need to have the ‘CarNet’ app to make it work. Only works if you have battery charge

Was on the Passat. Download the app and put your VIN in. Connects to the car, built it tracker etc

Mine is post-facelift but I assume same on earlier cars - you can set a time and schedule from the headunit as well as the app.

I find the Car-Net app horrendously unreliable though (even though it's had an update at last service) so set usual times for leaving Monday to Friday and then put in any others as we need.

I had a 2015 GTE that did not have Car-Net though later ones did so always best to check.
