964 values, slightly modded
Discussion
Over 17 years ago, i began to look for a Porsche, originally a 993, then a 964.
7 years prior to that, I started to put £3k a year a way, to save for it.
Now some time later, my car has covered about 116k, around 26k in my tenure, and I'm seriously thinking of scratching a V8 itch.
Had plenty of American muscle on holiday, as i'm in the states twice a year for the last 10 years, and foreseeable future.
The question is then whats the old girl worth in your eyes.... she isnt' standard by any stretch, LSD, RS ARB, Bilsteins, H&R springs, Unique leather work, Newly carpeted, Soild RS engine mounts, 100cell cat, twin outlet exhaust, GT3 (Boxster offset split rims) and pretty quick around Curburough (Just ask Boxsey). all old parts I have as spares...
Leather is Porsche Nappa, completed by Simon of SFTrim
its probably an 8/10 on condition.
Question is: Should I?

Agree with the above comments.
If your post was to seek advice, then without question resolve the interior. Very light colours are not popular and the quilting is (with respect) a big negative - it will put many off, or will be seen as leverage for a price reduction. Likewise, correct wheels will have more appeal.
The 6-figure mileage will dissuade collectors, so interest will come from potential users, and they will want to be sure everything works and gels to give the best driving experience. All IMO, of course.

Thanks all, appreciate the comments; yes very marmite. Guess it goes with the owner...
I have the original (optional sports seats) and MM cup wheels, sadly not originals... and the complete interior; so if I can be parted with her, have a range of options for any potential purchaser.
Now I just need to contemplate if I should test the market for real in the spring time..

Thanks for all the interest shown; both positive and otherwise; a bit of a family dilemma means I’ll be keeping the old girl for some time yet, and when spring comes around will be putting her back on the road with the intention of driving for a while longer
Thanks , and apologies to those who took a interest

Interesting thread. I'm on the look out for a 964 (C2, manual coupe), will be to use/enjoy so high mileage (can't afford a low mileage garage queen).
It seems there are quite a few common mods (RS air intakes, de-Cat, chips, lowered suspension etc.). What is the view on what this does to price/re-sale? Classic and sportscar buyers guide suggested any modifications reduce the value - but given how common some of these mods are, and the 'reversability' of them I was surprised as some of them appear to be genuine improvements with no down-side?
There are two 964's for sale at the moment one with all the mods, the other more standard and I'm trying to get my head around the value comparison.

In general people prefer original cars as they're a relatively known quantity (all cars need a PPI by a recognised specialist). It seems there are quite a few common mods (RS air intakes, de-Cat, chips, lowered suspension etc.). Mods are an acquired taste. Some may improve the car, some may not and they're not going to add as much value as the cost of doing them. It's usually best to make mods which can be reversed.
Steve Rance has a nicely modified 964 C2 as a case in point.
