Hi
I am going to buy about 60/80 bottles of wine for a family event in September .
Approx. 30 of each white and red and about 20 bottles of white sparkling .

I was thinking of buying bit by bit to spread the cost and maybe to beat the £ falling big time dependant on Brexit .
I want French only

First option I read just now on the Aldi site was Cotes du Rhone Villages 2016. I have tried a bottle .

My question if I buy 5 cases , will it be ok until September under he stairs upright ?

May seem like an odd question but its not a typical wine that you age . Do you think it will be ok for 6 months under my stairs ?

Thanks

Aldi don't keep large stocks of anything in-store.

It may be worth your while popping in when the store is quiet and speaking to the manager, who can then order 5 cases in for you.

Aldi have a specials section for bulk buying wine on their app at least, presumably on their website too.

Be worth a go but when i asked about buying bulk from Aldi it was a case of take the stock on display and it will be replenished, no mechanism to "order" as such.

And i was talking about £2-300 of the same stock a week, 39 weeks a year.

Tony: was for that for your restaurant? Cheaper than wholesalers?

No, restaurants long gone. It was fresh produce, fruit etc for a few schools. And yes, cheaper than wholesale.

Yep - that's a great solution - forgot that they have a well established online wine ordering/delivery operation.

You can also order online and have the lot delivered to your door FOC.

I think the choice might be slightly greater as well. You pay by credit card so there is the possibility of spreading the cost.

I was behind a lady at our local store who bought £400 of champagne or sparkly something before Christmas. They brought it out on a pallet for her.

I bought £600 of champagne there on Christmas eve - they had plenty in store, so just dropped cases in the trolley...

and as this is PH - obligatory shot of champagne in boot of an e39 M5 biggrin

Just order online and get it delivered , it's almost the only place and way we buy wine these days for the convenience. If we want something special we have a merchants in the town .
