After months of deliberating....I just made THE phone call to order my jag xf.

Ive spoken to 3 leasing companies, and none of them would take my order,

Anyone know why and if things will change......sales people didnt know why or if it will reopen, but cant imagine its great for Jag....no wonder people are being made redundant.

XF R-Sport I guess.

Most powerful engine you can get now is a 300ps 4-pot. One of those cars that just doesn't register for most people in the market for that kind of car unfortunately.

How Jag have let their model range become so utterly uninspiring is almost a criminal amount of ineptitude.

ETA - GC beat me to it.

I'm not really clued up on car finance, but last time I was in a Jag dealer buying a car (a used car last summer), they spent quite some time trying to sell me finance on it. Maybe that was PCP rather than leasing?

Have you considered getting a 2015 X250 instead? IMO they have a much nicer interior and better choice of engines.

They have pulled the lease deals from the last quarter and have not put any back up. I have been considering a XF Sportbrake and the JLR dealer Rockar had PCH/BCH deals on its website in December, now it only has PCP, cash &HP. Might be they haven’t sorted out the lease funding for the quarter, but with recent news does not look promising.

Just specked up a F Type SVR with a bundle of options on a PCP quote. Total OTR was £142000. After 36 Months, the final payment sits at £46500, based on 10,000 miles per annum. That is just 32% of its original price at 3 years old and 30000 miles! yikes

Would make a cracking used buy at that point, but to buy new? That is a very very long and deep bath for someone!

We've got an XF estate on order (ordered October) with Select, one of the previous quarter's cheap lease deals. It was originally due about now but I got a call before xmas from Select saying that it would be delayed due to the factory closures. Last communication I had from the supplying dealer said it was currently being built but I'm not holding my breath for the promised early Feb delivery.

Crazy money for a 2.0d surely? That kind of money gets you all sorts of far nicer cars on lease.

As much as I like Jaguar and the XF, would it not be wise to hold off any potential purchase? As we have seen with previous car manufacturers over the years, when in times of trouble, corners tend to get cut, meaning, your Jaguar may not be screwed together quite so well. I would either buy a 2 or 3 year old one or wait to see what happens.
