Advise sought please. I need to disconnect the rear PDC on my E92 coupe. The tow bar attachment I intend to fit will apparently be likely to activate the PDC. I understand that I could fit a swan neck bar but my situation demands that I fit a flange type tow bar arrangement.
Thanks for any advise offered,

S2Andy

I've just has a flanged detachable Witter towbar fitted by Jim's Towbars. Works fine.

My E91 didn't activate the reverse sensors with the towbar fitted.
With dedicated electrics they won't activate with trailer or bikes on - unless you have an LED light board where the current drawn by the brake lights is insufficient to trigger the dedicated lighting box.
Do you not have a switch on the dash to mute the sensors?

You should have a switch to disable it, plus the system is not active all the time - only once reverse gear has been selected and it turns back off above a certain speed again until next time reverse is selected

Thanks guys, that’s good news for me. I raised the issue as one of the tow bar web sites states that thier fixed flange tow bar is ‘not suitable for cars with rear sensors’. I think I will just go ahead and get the thing fitted. Thanks again.
