New Civic Type R 2017/18

I was looking at getting the Civic 1.5 Vtec sport, I went to show the wife and she hated it, 'you'll look like a boy racer in that' was one comment.

So I walked away and bought an Audi A6 ( she likes big cars)

I have since got a new job and I'm thinking of going one step further and getting the Type R. The reviews are very good and in general I think they look really good but I am slightly worried that I will get laughed at and be accused of being in a mid life crisis!

They really seem to hold their value, not as common at the Golf R and also seem to pretty decent on MPG when required. Is there anything I should be worried about (apart from the wife)

Not sure if it is important to you, but a Type R is a 4 seater, rather than a 5.

Nah, just get it - it looks so wacky it's beyond boy racer. I do like the look of the new Civic - even the 1.0 turbo looks sporty.
