Agreed value classic M car insurance
Discussion
My E28 M5 insurance is due in three weeks and my last broker has just emailed to say the current company are “not inviting renewal”! I guess they were no longer comfortable with the increased agreed value over the past 5 years and to be fair the price always felt a bit too cheap in comparison so I’m not really surprised.
I don’t do many miles (3k limit would be fine), and last year’s specialist valuation for insurance was £55k. The car is not modified at all and is garaged at home. Before I start the ball-aching process of ringing around I was wondering if any early ‘classic’ M3, M5 or M635i etc owners in a similar situation can recommend anyone that provides good service and a decent price please?
Off the top of my head I was thinking of trying Classicline, FJ, AF, Lancaster. If it helps I’m currently a BMWCC member, but was thinking of cancelling that this year for various reasons.

I’ve always used ClassicLine for my classic cars. Never had to claim but their prices are reasonable and they are easy to deal with.

I use RH Specialists for my E30 M3 & 325 sport for guaranteed value for about £500 the pair.
I know they’re a bit rough mate but I reckon you’d get at least double that for them
To close this one off; I spoke with RH Specialists, the BMWCC providers A-plan and finally Classicline.
They were all pleasant and easy to deal with and gave realistic figures, however, I have gone with Classicline (using an Equity Red Star classic policy) who offered the best price and lowest excess including legal cover, European breakdown, commuting (ha!) along with the agreed value. Cheers all.
