Hi boys. I am a Greek guy who has been dreaming of owning a Tuscan S for some time now.I have a few questions.

What is the average insurance cost?
What is the average service cost?
What are the little problems that I might be facing while owning one?
Do I get to through some dust on porkis in the motorway?
What production year is best to choose from? 2001 cars? 2002, 2003?
Is it true that some of the cars come with upgrades of stability management and battery conditioner?

what is a fair price to pay for a 2003 6-8,000 miles car?
what is the most tradeable colour on these cars?
Has any of you had an engine rebuild? What was the reason?

I hope some of you will try to help me here.

I own a Lhd boxster s at the moment but it feels like i am driving a donkey....

Hi Greek boy...another Greek boy here, owner of 2001 Tuscan 4.0 (not S)...inusrance depends on your age and no claims bonus...just over £1000 for me with 5 years no claims. I am 30. Servicing is about £600 for small one and £1200 for big one...high fuel consumption -150 to 200 miles per full tank in mixed conditions-. Little niggles always in store -like the boot lid not releasing!- most can be fixed simply...don't know much about engine rebuilds. Example of costs would be £1300 for a clutch, 300 for flywheel, £250 for throttle body adjustments -all of which I have done recently-. In terms of Porsches you will equal or be faster than a GT3 or 911 Turbo on a straight -but don't fool yourself that you can keep up when the road is twistier-. The Carrera GT is faster than you, all other Porsches (4S, Carrera 2 etc) you will have for breakfast. The same goes for most recent Ferraris (360) and older ones (F355, 348 etc). It is very unlikely that you will encounter may things faster than a Tuscan. Not many things do 100mph in 9 seconds! I hear that some suspension tweaks greatly improve the handling (such as nitrons) but as a rule of thumb I never modify my cars.

I hope the above has been of help. I have been trying to convince myself to sell mine but I am not too sure yet. If you are interested, visit my profile, drop me a line and we can discuss things.

Best wishes,

Vassilis
