Hi everyone.

I have a 2005 Focus, 2.0 Ghia estate. The car has done me well but I am looking to search for work abroad in the next few months so will need to sell the car.

After an ill judged 3 point turn I crunched the curb and put the alignment out while damaging the wish bone.

Have been quoted 190 GBP all in to fix and align it which is not too bad. The problem is the MOT is next month and nobody will buy a used car with just days left on the MOT.

My question is.

Sell the car now as damaged with little MOT for beer money?

Pay to fix and MOT the car before selling for a higher price?

I think once fixed with a new MOT I could get around 700 - 800 for the car. Without MOT and damaged probably lucky to get a few hunded for the car?

Have been having a real brain drain trying to think about what I should do with my car but any input will be greatly appreciated smile

So £200 to repair, £55 to mot it assuming it goes straight through. Lets assume you get £700 for it, or if you deduct the cost of repairs £450. Or you could just advertise it on gumtree with its faults and short mot and see if someone will pay £450 for it ...

MOT it first so you can see if there are any surprises lurking.

If not get the wishbone done and a free retest.
