Hi guys, I have been a member of forums in the past when I was a golf R32/R man but have just bought a 330d so have joined up here to see what it’s all about. Needed a family car so after a lot of searching I decided on the 330d with the m sport kit on. Lovely looking car and pretty quick too. I will remap at a later date.
Anyway my first question is Regarding the backbox removal dual exhaust conversion. This is something I want to do very soon. It’s the only weak point left on the car looks wise. Has anybody had this done around lincoln/ notts area? I am trying to find somebody who has done it before around my area.
Also I have seen the cobra back box on eBay that will go straight on. What’s the main advantage of back box removal over a cobra back box?
Thanks, hopefully I can get something sorted pretty soon 👍

The 335d has a different panel in the floor to allow for the dual exhaust. You can fit one without changing the 330d but there is less room to work with. If you wanted you can change the boot floor panel, they just bolt in and have less of a storage area under the boot floor

I am pretty sure on the 330d it can easily be done. It’s an f30 2016 car if that makes any more sense to you. I believe it’s just a case of removing back box and then manufacturing the replacement dual pipes and fitting. I would rather take it somewhere that has done it before tho. Or buy the cobra backbox but that will prob work out about £300 more.

I assumed it was an e90 because that’s what my 330d was Haha!
Yes, any exhaust place can do it, it’s a very straight forward modification. Just search for a local Powerflow dealer or similar.
Don’t forget you probably need the 335 diffuser too

I dropped into my local powerflow dealer yesterday and showed them a pic of what I wanted doing. They looked at it for about 5 mins and looked puzzled. Didn’t fill me with confidence. I would rather take it somewhere that’s already done the job if there is anywhere local.
Has anybody had the conversion done midlands / lincs area?
