I know that this was mentioned in other posts, but I feel it deserves it's own thread.
Details of airframes as below.
As you see it's from a Facebook group, but he seems quite specific.
First one is in service on 19th Feb. (G-BYGC)

It's a real pity that they have decided not to include the regional carriers that were incorporated into the new BA in 1974.

I'd love to see an Airbus A320 or 319 in any of these schemes -

Some of these aircraft even carried BA titles when still in their pre-merger colours -

Hopefully it will be the 'red square' BEA scheme, but maybe not with the red wings, which is why I suspect it might be the later blue tail/union flag BEA scheme.

I wonder which Negus scheme it will be, the original from the late 70's or the slightly revised one seen in the early 80's...?

How about the rather classy 1950s scheme - no red wings, so attractive from a practical point of view -

And a nod to Imperial Airways would be nice -

I saw my first Airbus in 1974. It was the prototype A300 which visited Dublin on a sales tour. They started becoming common from about 1975 on.

All those, but probably miss the VC10 most of all, as a kid in the 70's I lived under the Crosswind 'Runway 23' Outer Marker, and loved the sound of those Conways.
Also miss the bright colour schemes of the 70's, I now work airside at LHR but find most of the modern aircraft and liveries boring.

We've been here before, as I was about 7 miles out under R23 biggrin

Of course the BOAC 707's were also fitted with Conway's as well.

Miss the screech of the Avons fitted to Caravelles, although Caravelles were getting rare by the late 70's and into the 80's.

I'm on my 3rd stint at LHR, having spent a few years in the early 80's building T4, a few years in the mid 00's building T5, and now the last 3 years on odd bits and pieces of T2,T3 & T4 laugh

Oh yes, we have haven't we, haha

So you''ll be on T6 next then laugh

I've been in T5 for nearly 12 years now, 2 of those in the WIB next to T3 although classed as part of T5.

To be fair, if BA was to include a scheme for every one of its "ancestor" airlines, it would get a bit silly -

AT&T
Hillman Airways
Daimler Airways
Instone Airlines
Imperial Airways
British Airways Ltd
Railway Air Services
BEA
BOAC
Cambrian Airways
BKS
Northeast

There were quite a few other companies involved in the history as well.

The original British Airways didn't have much of a scheme anyway.

To be honest, neither did Imperial. But Imperial did originate the Speedbird logo which survived through BOAC and BA's first scheme -

I plan to build a model of one of these some day -

I used to live on the Kent coast when Britannia movements were regular in and out of Manston and Viscounts operating from Lydd.

I believe 'Speedbird' was also the callsign. If so, how long did that continue?
