Need to replace the knob/gaiter in my e46. It’s the illuminated version.

Cotswold BMW are being rubbish at getting back to me, my local dealer wants £160.

Anyone got anywhere else for a decent price on one of these?

It's not cheap anywhere.

Going rate is £160-ish anyway, so your local dealer is not ripping you off, but Bowker have it for £153, as has Amazon.

I’d been waiting for someone from parts to get back to me.
Cheers, I’ll call again and just order one of they’re that price.

If you are on M3cutters and request a quote from Cotswolds through their page, I think you will get a bit of a discount.

I have always found them to be very efficient at responding and sending parts out.

£135 all in from Cotswold.

It’ll be here Monday.

Arrived.
The changeover doesn’t look too hard - I’ll have a go at lunch.

Old vs new - I didn’t realise how bad it had got. The car has only done 300 miles since November- sitting outside, the leather had just perished.

Do you wear rings?

Mine (in the Z4MC) is outside all the time, and looks almost new after 160,000 miles.

No rings.
Whoever had it before me obviously liked a bit of jewellery. It was never an issue - it’s just progressively got worse then much worse this winter.

The first of several jobs to do before she goes to a new home.
