Has anyone else noticed a change in behaviour when browsing via mobile?

I've the same phone (Galaxy S9) and have seen no changes in other websites but in recent weeks I've seen a few strange behaviours when browsing this site on mobile:

- selecting a thread is sometimes opening a different thread to the one I'd clicked on. Almost like the link and where it directs you to are out of sync.

- if scrolling quickly down a long thread as soon as you've openend it there is a brief pause, blank white screen, and it is taking a second or two to pull up the full thread. Don't ever recall that before.

- clicking links to forums, threads and especially the links on the menu at the bottom seem less responsive. I'm sometimes having to click them a couple of times, or having to scroll up and down a bit and then try again, before the site seems to register I've selected a link.

Above occur whether on fast WiFi, 4g, whatever. And I don't see the same change in behaviours on other sites, which I think rules out me/my phone.

I'm using Chrome.

There are quite a few threads now on what is essentially the same issue. It's opening different threads because the page is so slow to load it's jumping (presumably where an ad would be).

The most reliable method is getting round it at the moment is to install the Brave browser.

As others have said, this is something we are aware of and are trying to solve. We'll keep you updated.

Thanks!

Been that way for ages, over a year I'd say at a guess. Borderline unusable.

Only recently started for me but it's as the OP describes, very difficult to browse the forums using a mobile well a Samsung one anyway.

Yes it's getting to the stage where I can't use the site on mobile. Ironically I only found this thread because the 'website feedback' section of the site opened instead of the thread I'd actually clicked on. I then had to wait until I was back on my laptop to reply to the topic because I couldn't manage to open it up intentionally on the phone!

🤣🤣 Getting ridiculous isn't it? And damned if I'm installing another browser app just for here. I'll just end up visiting less.

Brave is essentially the same as Chrome but blocks ads. I use it as my main phone browser now.

Ok, thanks. But I only have Chrome at work and I like the connectivity between my desktop and mobile browser, so will stick with Chrome.

On our quest to speed the site up we released a change (more deletion of unneeded code) yesterday around 3pm. This reduced the size of JavaScript being downloaded and processed on your browser.

Will be interested to see if that improves things for people. So let us know.

The mobile site/experience is shockingly poor. I basically don't bother with PH, unfortunately, until I can get on a real browser. Y'all should work on a dedicated app :-)
