A word of warning it is worth calling around for service quotes before just going to your local dealer. It seems there are 2 systems they work to. Fixed price and charge what they want. A first service on a 911 is £605 on the fixed price. My nearest dealer Silverstone Porsche (less than a mile away) is on the charge what they want. They quoted £880 for the same service! Next nearest dealer to me (Leicester) is on the fixed price scheme. Needless to say where the car is going to for the service.

Thanks for info...

Might be an obvious question. But are you sure that the brake fluid is included in the fixed price? For some reason they seem to spring this on you as if its not part of the service!

would definitely recommend checking what's included in the price and if it includes vat

I was quoted just over £600 for a standard service, then on top of that I paid extra for brake fluid change and air filter replacement, neither included with the standard service, then with vat added the bill came to just over £1000

No - Brake Fluid is always a separate, extra charge.

every thing is a extra lol, belts, air filter, brake fluid, Plugs, even a washer fluid top up is on the bill !!

the fixed price thing is a rip off but better than the charge what you like OPC..., it's a oil change and some times you get a pollen filter !

but then you pay £3k for a lambo or Ferrari so A Porsche is a 1/3 of the price I guess.

The service is £510 and the brake fluid is £95. If you look on the Porsche site it lists what it includes and it does include all the filters. The fixed price on the Porsche site is for a 991.1 not a 991.2 and is a bit cheaper at £495. Silverstone by the way wanted £150 for the fluid change.

Haggled mine down to £50 when I had mine serviced at an Opc .

Interestingly I got a better price at Silverstone than what the highwaymen at OPC Hatfield offered. They seemed to enjoy telling me that they would charge me twice for doing some work once (overlap between 111-point check and a service).

I'd add that the service I got at Silverstone was also spot-on - if I exclude the "sorry Sir, no chance" when asking about a new GT4 wink

My local OPC Portsmouth are always very helpful.

Quoted me fixed prices but did some other bits, fixed washer jets etc.

Also amenable to haggling on tyre costs and price matched a local tyre garage yesterday saving me nearly 15% a tyre!

Very impressed

I was very disappointed with OPC Hatfield the other day. The absolutely flat refused to give me a discounted price, "we are not allowed to do that any more" was their answer. I felt really ripped off by them this time.

When I asked what the hourly rate is they said £190...

They also forgot to do the mot while they had it, so I had no mot for a few days and wasted time taking it elsewhere.

If it wouldn't affect the value I'd definitely take it to an indy as I would trust them to look after it better.

Just by point of reference my 991.2 GTS had it's first service today (2 year) at OPC East London.

Service £694 - oil, filters etc
Brake fluid £132

All of the above inc VAT
No discount for PCGB members for the above, only on additional parts & labour.

Probably not the cheapest, yet good service. TBH approx £400 per year on servicing for a car of this league I consider very reasonable when compared with anything wearing an Italian badge.

Hatfield do discount, sometimes. My 981 CS goes in tomorrow for a PSE to be fitted, which is a few hundred below the recommended price and cheaper than I've ever been quoted anywhere.
It needs a service in March, but they won't be doing the brake fluid at £155! Can get it done at my indy for less than half that.

Christ almighty, my local Porsche dealer here in Melb quoted $1800 for an intermediate service - got it done for $550 at an indie

Anything that can be done by a 22-year-old apprentice with a Year 11 education is not brain surgery ... yet they're charging brain surgery prices.

Sure I suppose if you can afford a Porsche you can afford to pay an extra dollar here or there but in my view it's just shonky.

I did however take the car to the dealer to do a wheel alignment - cheapest thing on the list and it got me an extra year of roadside assistance plus some nice pampering at the dealership.

My car was in Hatfield for some warranty work in the summer with a service due shortly thereafter which they wanted to do. I said no I take it to Canary Wharf and they offered me a decent discount to get the work. Has it changed since last summer I wonder?
