Tell me about 2.5TDI V6

I'm looking for a comfy and speedy diesel for my commute to work and back. I do about 36 mile trip (one way) mostly on the motorway and dual carriageways.

I've seen a 2001 Audi A4 2.5TDI (Link below). Seems nice but I don't know much about them. Ideally I need something that is going to better my current 43.6mpg and get something into the mid 50's. I know I'm probably better off getting a newer 2.0TDI but want to know if anyone has any experience with these.

No chance of 50's on the old 2.5tdi.

They eat fuel pumps which are generally quite expensive to replace.

HI, I had an a4 cab with the same lump for 6 year's, very let me down ever and covered quo in the end. Mpg mid 30s to low 40s, my brother had a golf gttdi at the same, this produced better mpg and was quicker in all situations. Hope this helps.
