Thought I would start a thread on this very miserable day in the midst of winter to show our motors tucked away warm and snug. Here’s the Sagaris at a good friends place of work - and in some excellent, but disassembled company.

Love the layer of dust on it...

Can’t wait for the sun to shine.

Our RO does that, but mines taxed all year. You can miss some great meets, good weather...

I stopped doing that years ago for a multitude of vehicles I've owned for the reason that it's easy enough to tax a car online and then declare it SORN on the 30th / 31st or whatever when you know it'll be off the road for a month or more. Having said that my Chimaera isn't being used at the moment and I intend to tax it on 1st March.

There's no 5% loading (used to be 10% in the days of paper discs) if you buy 12 months. And now there's no charge for using a credit card, you can actually receive the 11/12 refund as a cheque from DVLA Swansea if you only use it for 1 month, BEFORE you've actually paid for the full 12 months. wobble

I tax my TVR for a full year but in the winter time it can go a number of weeks without getting used due to the weather but when you get a nice sunny but cold winters day I love getting it out for an hour or three.

Even on sunny winter days, the roads are still laden with dried salt (well they are round here) so I'm reluctant to wash the chassis with what is essentially brine. A day of heavy rain first, and mild enough for the gritters to stay at home then yes smile
