I drive a shed which has been totally brilliant, but every few months I look into the leasing thread and get excited about leasing a car. I was looking at a Seat Leon 1.5 Tsi which worked out at just over £4300 for the two years /10k miles PA which got me thinking, which car gives the best combination of newness/decentness for £4500.

I don't really care what it is as it is just white goods motoring. I would prefer a petrol but I am not bothered if it is diesel.

The only criteria I have are :

1)If it is a manual then it must have a six speed gearbox
2)No bottom of the range Dacias. Must have remote central locking, Air Con, electric windows and if it could play MP3s from either my phone or a memory stick that would be fantastic.
3)OK fuel eceonomy.
4)Reasonable road tax.
5)Nothing too small with a tiny engine, preferably not three Cylinder.

I think I am realistically looking at a 2012 Focus/Megane/Astra at best but I was wondering if there was anything else out there that was unloved and cheap second hand?

2008 onawards Civic is a good option. 1.8 i-vtec petrol gets a reasonable 35-40mpg even seen 45mpg on a shortish run up the a38 and very generous with the kit and has all you required. just the funky styling

or other could be
Seat Leon FR TSI
Golf TSI
Kia Cee'd / Hyundai i30
