Hi all ,

What’s the general feeling on repaired cars,I know the cat s is a financial call by the insurers normally and may be an opportunity to get into a better car than normally would be possible. I intend to keep for a long time so resale isnt a real issue. Also a lot of cars have a shunt especially sports cars and are never recorded.as long as repaired correctly I don’t have an issue.theres a black 981 s for good money on autotrader that looks a good spec but add one don’t seem to match what’s in the car so almost looks like a full spec sheet copy and pasted .

Personally I think £28k is an awful lot of money to put into a car that has been written off. Life has a habit of throwing up surprises and if you needed to sell you might take a big hit, especially if you need to sell in a hurry.

Why bother. You'll always have a doubt it's straight and won't go wrong. It'll be cheaper to buy, but harder to sell.

It's not a special low number or unique Porsche. Save up a little more or buy a nice 987 S which are the best value Porsche at present.

Of course you’re all right , if it looks to good to be true it normally is , incorrect/exaggerated spec and poor spelling grammar were the first sign, saying all parts bought from porch was dealer and when asked for receipts and photos pre/post damage none available and parts from there own stock ????

Was a nice looking S though but looking at a few PSE 2.7s , from what I’ve seen on videos reviews and read the 2.7 is more engaging drive day to day as you need to rev it to enjoy its lower limits over the more powerful 3.4 , can always paint the calipers red (I like the look)

Link is down/sold maybe

I think you probably dodged a bullet there. As you said, if it looked to good to be true then there’s a problem. You would also have had problems when it came to reselling.
