Dear All

For a while I've been wondering about a few little and simple jobs that can be carried out on my 997.2 cab, in order to make it feel new again.

My list is as follows:

1) replace scuffed plastic around door (where the boot release is), both passenger and driver. Porsche seemed to like the rubberised plastic trim that ages badly.

2) (cabriolet) replace the rear quarterlight seals that are attached to the glass. They looked very grotty. (update. Has now been carried out, windows now much more secure and car feels and sounds newer). Seals are £33 each...

What would you add to the list? Anything mechanical?

Replace the PDK oil before it’s due for a change (using Millers). Sharpened up the ‘box beautifully.

Use gtechniq C4 trim restorer on all the plastic trim. Amazing stuff!

Pay a visit to Center Gravity for a full geo.

Sounds silly but get it detailed, £600 on paintwork correction and a quality sealant will knock years off.

I typically do it every summer, as it only takes a year for paint to fade.

I did the whole hog (except springs) on my wife's 2008 50K 997.1 4S cab. At Center Gravity. Expensive but good.
