XJ6 can i get a aftermarket exhaust thats as quiet as stock

i got an xj6n and want to get a new exhaust as the current stock one is very rusted which makes the bike look hideous. I also want to get it to save a bit of weight as the box on the stock one is quite heavy.
If i get a full stainless steel exhaust how can i make it as quiet as the stock one? or even quieter than stock if possible.

Doubt you will be able to get an aftermarket exhaust that is quieter than stock. Unless you get an OEM item from a Yamaha dealer, but that won't deal with the issue of weight. Black Widow exhausts seem to be highly rated on the XJ6, you could just leave the baffle in but its still going to be considerably louder than stock, as these bikes are very quiet.

Have you thought about cleaning the original exhaust up or maybe even spraying it to cover the rust?

Lots of good high-temp paints out there these days, not just matt black.
