Car for sale at two different dealers?
Discussion
I guess I know the answer to this one, which is ‘walk away’, but just thought I’d ask this in case people had any ideas as to what’s going on.
My dad is looking for a second hand super mini to replace his 16 year old Clio which has just eaten its cam belt. He’s taken covers and head off, and valves are munched, it’s just not worth repairing.
He saw a car today which seemed ok, but on further research has also seen it (same plate) at another, unrelated dealer (not main dealer) 40 miles away. I guess the two dealers might have some arrangement where they also advertise each other’s cars?
The other weird thing, and the thing that makes me think walk away, especially as it’s a white goods car, is that the MoT checker shows it was due its first MoT in 2016, but has never had one. So either something is dodgy, or it’s been sat in a dealers compound for nearly 3 years, neither of which could be a good thing.
A) am I being paranoid?
B) is there a simple explanation?
Many thanks!
