Looking for a bit of inspiration.

After a car that will be comfortable on the daily commute, decent power, able to return good mpg on the motorway, and easily take a mountain bike in the back.

Currently options:

- BMW 330I or D
- Volvo V70 T5 or D5
- Saab 9-5 Aero HOT
- Mk5 Golf GTI

Coming from a Mk7 Fiesta ST thats at the end of its PCP. Just a bit too small for me and the bike.

Anyone have any inspiring ideas? Not too fussy about age of the car.

Cheers!

How many miles do you do per year?

My first pick would be a Focus ST you'll see 35mpg on the motorway with an average of around 27mpg with mixed driving.

Or the Mondeo with the same engine in Titanium X trim would make a great daily & take mountain bikes with ease be it hatchback or saloon, you'll see around 35mpg on the motorway, they're the best FWD steer in the class so are worth a good look.

2.0T Titanium X Sport you;ll see high 30's to low 40's with this model

Trying to find a 330i Touring in your budget with sensible miles will be the hardest part.

Some great ideas, cheers! Vectra VXR a bit Barry for me unfortunately.

Currently still thinking GTI. BMW sounds good but don't think it'll be too fun on a daily basis! Focus ST a good idea too, but coming from a Fiesta ST I do fancy something a bit different.

Mileage 10-15k a year. Predominantly on the A3 50mph zone, and then motorway trips to funner roads (Wales, Scottish Borders etc).

Cheers!
