You aren't going to get much, if any costs for taking action like that, so what would be in it for the no win, no fee brigade?
It's not that hard to put a sensible case together that a small claims judge could find reasonable. Some solicitors might offer a free 30 mins to discuss your case?

You’re not going to get a no win/no fee firm to represent you as the potential settlement will be pennies for them as all you want is a new phone or the cost of one. You are not going to get thousands in compo over this (not that you’re after this) so there’s nothing in it for the firm representing you.
You’ll have to pay if you want a solicitor to represent you.

If this has got anything to do with that Electronics Exchange thread you started, I really wouldn't bother...
Clearly we don't have all the facts, but if you soldiered on with a faulty phone for 2.5 months (notwithstanding awful personal circumstances) before raising it with them, I can't see any judge getting too upset about the situation

I would have got a really cheap phone by now, then at least I could make calls/texts.Not saying how you have been treated is right, just that there is a simple way (short term) to at least stay in touch.
Lifes too short , the phone must have been under £200 , just buy another, yes its unfair but how much is you time worth

Second hand phones are a complete utter minefield, sometimes you get lucky, other times you don't . Personally id only ever buy off a mate who I knew looked after it and was honest,.

Jesus, buy a Nokia on Ebay for 20 quid and use that until you can get a resolution....or spend £50 on any of the wonderful cheap Android phones all of which have 3g. If a phone was that important to your "business" you'd have a "business plan" which comes with next day replacement , if you needed a phone that desperately you could have got one up and running without thinking of court action for under £50....
