Second hand mechanical checking...
Discussion
Can any Cerb'head recommend a good technical mechanic who is willing to check out second hand cars for a pre-purchase check...?
Including chasis knowledge? The car is located north of london...so I presume for their convenience they would live around there.
Or has anyone a second hand check-list they could post...
Thanks guys

Sir B, yes I am at present (trying ever so hard) to get a look at one of James Agger's stock (www.jamesagger.com/used_cars/stocklistgallery.asp?id=227). Can't wait to get a
in to feel it.
James seems awfully busy at the moment - summer business I suppose.
Do those who know, (you guys) think I need to get a good mechanic to give it a check over - or can I rely on the warrantee.

I think you can probably rely on James Agger, but if you ask him, he'll probably arrange for Joospeed or TVR Power to have a look at it for you.
Whoever you get to look at it, if you're particularly interested in the chassis, make sure it goes on a ramp. There's more than half the car that you can't check without a ramp.

always get a tvr inspected unless you know your tvrs very very well. The warrantee will help but not that much. It might cover SOME bills but it wont make a lemon sorted ie will fix broken things but not ongoing niggles, rust, stone chips, etc
dont froget that if you have a knackered shock then the wtee will only fix one!

Oli,
Rob Ingleby found my current Cerbera for me late last year. I have no experience of messing about with normal cars, let alone a Cerb, so his service was invaluable. It's not let me down yet! (Touch wood). Andy at APM would probably have a look for you as well (probably for a small fee) - He knows his stuff, particularly about Cerberas. I'm looking at selling mine at the moment because I need the cash for a pending house purchase. It's in the PH classifieds (V reg, 4.5. £21,500) - More than happy to give you a spin in it, even if it just helps in your decision about the one at James Agger.
