Hi everyone... my S2's been off the road for a few weeks trying to sort a fault out. It's the same as quite a few other posts, bad idle, not running on all cylinders, misfire, over-fuelling etc

It's had all leads, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, coil, TP replaced and the ISC valve, air flow meters, compression etc are all tested and are working fine so my chap in the know has concluded that the only other thing it could be would be the ECU itself going bonkers

Anyone know where I can either get a new one (maybe an upgraded better one?) or the original remapped / reprogrammed? I'm in N. Wales and it's virtually undrivable now so any suggestions that I drive to Austec or something wouldn't be ideal sorry!!!

Thanks in advance for any advice...
James

It's a standard Ford item so you should be able to get a replacement from Ford or possibly second hand, there are two types used I think but they are detailled in the Bible.

Before you commit to an expensive (I assume) spend on a new ECU, might it be worth finding a friendly S owner in your neck of the woods and swapping ECUs just to be certain its that which is at fault ?

Hi James Im in Chester and I have a spare ECU that you could try if you want to. Call me on 07736773901

You could also try the following company for an ECU
www.atpelectronics.co.uk/ I think they will check put your ECu and repair it or supply an exchange recon unit.
or http://tunemycar.com/index.html they repair from £65 and exchange units are from £85

Hi Steve,

IIRC, ATP have approved stockists only and BBA are one of those (posted in the link above).

Hope that helps
