Fishing for .net help again

Dont normally have any luck with these seeing as its a motoring site but a problem shared is a problem halved so...

i have a .net page with an iframe in it. on windows 2000 when I navigate the iframe places it seems to clear the viewstate. on xp it doesnt.

What gives? and more importantly how can I make it so that changing the iframe location doesnt clear the viewstate?

Looks like its down to the web server. Unable to replicate it if i host it off a different box. oh good.
