Anyone had experience of removing the rear carbon diffuser on a 17plate R8 V10 Plus? Is it a garage job?

I need to take mine off to send it away for a repair to a hairline crack, got OCD and cant stand knowing its there!

The carbon repair shop doesn't remove them, you just send them the part.

You may be better off asking this over on R8talk.com as the number of R8 owners is more concentrated.

Can it be repaired? I thought carbon wasn't something you could repair due to its construction? With a carbon bike, you have a bad fall, the frame's usually a right off.

If you send me your reg or chassis number I'll have a good go downloading the instructions for you.

Yep im a member on R8talk, just can never remember the password and PH is easier to use!

Carbon can be repaired: http://carbonfibrerepair.com - just takes a long time with all the striping back and building back up the layers. Also not cheap frown

Thanks, much appreciated. I had a carbon framed bike written off by my insurance company but things have clearly improved.
