Finally a solution to the purple hoses on the 4.5!
Discussion
Why on earth do they still 'cross-over' ie the box on LH side feeds cylinders on RH side. Surely if they just went to the cylinders on the same side it would leave space on top for er cooling?
It does look fantastic though.

secret to getting extra power is in the tuned length .. the crossing over and squashing isn't a big issue but the long length is limiting top end hp because it's tuned for about 4500 revs as std.
joolz so what would be better longer or shorter?????
muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch shorter. see the other induction upgrade thread going at the moment .. 357bhp at the wheels it's called .. look at the pics there and that's what you need for power.
Don't quote me on this
but I think Craigs car before this was a 350 at the wheel car on standard purple jobbies, thats also before the NoS is turned on
.
I beleive this was borne out when he apparently 'blew away' the 2nd most powerful cerb at the cerb shoot out, I think it had the emerald system fitted too
. You'd have to ask the drivers for an honest opinion of that to truely know what went on

I guess this suggests both bhp and torque increase when shorter ones fitted.
Can I have a short set from you plse !!

If the inlet trumpets are better shorter why did TVR go over to longer ones on the 4.5 and not stay with the shorter ones as on my 4.2 and does shorting the trumpets sacrifice torque for BHP
TVR are a law unto themselves Allan .. I haven't a clue why they didn't use a short inlet on the 4.5 but we've proved it works so much better alraedy.
the 4.2 has nominally a better intake length, but the smaller butterfly and waisted manifold face join stops the effect.
