Car credit hire - Help
Discussion
Edit to make it easier to read.
this was done by a poster on here.
You had a collision, and claimed for the damage to your car (plus maybe personal injury).
As soon as they agreed to pay, you then knew you would shortly be able to pay your mate back, if you were to borrow money.
You returned the credit hire car.
You borrowed the money and bought a cheap replacement car to get you mobile.
You recieved the cheque.
You paid your friend back.
The car broke down and was sold.
Third party has not made an offer to clear the car credit hire fees.
1. they first asked to see VC5 of the vehicle I brought. I gave them an insurance certificate of my new car.
2. They asked how I paid for it - I explained how I had paid for it.
3. They then asked why I didn't borrow money earlier and they couldn't see proof I cashed there cheque in. I now have provided explanations to this

Why do you need proof of purchase?
I don't know exactly. I just assume they are looking for ways to not pay the credit hireBut the third party checked my bank statements and found nothing to prove I brought the car. Which I brought from a private person not a dealer. So there wouldn't be any transaction. Just gave him the cash.
I provided an explanation to my solicitor, and showed them some print screens of the money in which my friend loaned me.

But they have not paid the credit hire. They have not refused to pay as of yet, but they seem to keep wanting more information

Surely as long as the details on the V5 and insurance certificate tally and you can prove your address that’s all you need ?
I only have the insurance certificate. I have lost the VC5.
as I got rid of the car a few years ago, is there anyway to get another VC5 or some sort of document from the DVLA?

I thought the case was over but the other day my solicitor sent an email about this, and proof of purchase.
