My Cerbera will be going up for sale this spring, but I just don't have the time to sort all the sales stuff out and run my business, so I'm very seriously thinking about giving it to a good dealer to sell on my behalf.

Thing is .. I'm guessing the largest potential group of buyers is going to be towards the south of the country .. but other than Amore I'm not sure who does commission based sales in the southern half. I'd like the car to go to somewhere that does a lot of sales, has many visitors rather than a garage that also sells a couple of cars a year on the side. In short I'd like maximum exposure and great staff who will get me a great deal (obviously).
I don't mind paying for the convenience of having someone take the sale off my hands, but obviously I'd also like to get good value for whatever their fee is.

To that end .. what experiences do people have of going through this sales route .. horror stories obviously PM me, good stories on here (to avoid name and shame issues).

I really like Ian at Track v Road and their stock always seems beautifully presented, but are they a bit out of reach of the majority of customers ? (I know certain people will travel for the right car, but it also stands to reason that long distances put some people off).
Amore, maybe Schmoo ? ..

Any help appreciated.

Kerridges in Needham Market sold my Griff on SoR.

Been around a very long tiome, TVR dealers, and they might buy from you direct as well.

100% trustworthy IMO.

Received thanks.

My dealings were back in 2006. As an aside they even posted back the CD's I had forgotten about in the CD changer.

Good luck with your sale anyway.

You mentioned Amore, a good choice IMO, have bought and traded in with those guys and been totally happy. No BS and straight forward to deal with.

Racing Green did have a reputation for providing the best prices for SoR, but that was a few years back. Not done any SoR for a number of years, so not up with the latest market

Fortunately for you, you had a better experience than I did when they sold my Griffith.

Bespoke (near Ware in Herts) offered to sell mine. But it's an awkward place to get to for me and no guarantee of a sale of course. Seemed very professional with a signed contract agreement and up front about the margin they try to get, and the fee if it doesn't sell.

They have a few on sale but I don't know how many are SOR:

Dealt with them since 1992. I’ve bought 7/8 cars from them, ( including 4 Tvr’s) and the last was a mini for my daughter a few months ago. They’ve also had all four of my Tvrs on SOR, all sold with zero problems.
There’s a reason they’ve been trading over 100 years

I nearly bought a spitfire a couple of year a couple of years ago. 90% restored, needed finishing.
That's a good selection of british sports cars over the 70's and 80's, plus an SD1 biggrin
