After deciding to take the plung and really go after a decent Elise, I want to be able to meet up with other local nuts, and generally benifit from a formal club (read cheaper insurance).
I'm 99% sure that there will be more information available directly and indirectly from PH than an official club, but as was raised recently PH is not an offical car club as far as insurance companies are concerned.
I'm also English in my quirks and as such I like to know I belong to a communitte that is off limits to most - The Prisoner had it so right. The sense of belonging, but still being individual, etc, etc.
Can anybody point me the way of a good club?

Don't know if www.seloc.org counts on insurance as a club but they have a fabulous forum and lots of meets

I think they are nationwide but not really sure. There are other regional clubs as well, such as my local one www.nyloc.org
If you just post up on the boards I would imagine you will find something out

SELOC is good and is definitely national, they offer deals on insurance etc. too with Competition Car - the only company (I think) that will give you track day cover wityh a road poliy.
Your profile says West End - is that The West End (of London) or West End in Hampshire which is just round the corner from me?

... The WE of London:
I work for a large well known media company that provides a huge number of satellite channels, consisting almost solely of adverts with amphibians of dubious sanity and a few music videos thrown in for the kids...
I am therefore paid by the 'crazy frog'

Join SELOC, 28quid start up then 20 each year thereafter. I saved 10% with Adrian Flux (80quid at the time) which meant I started life as a member 50quid up on the day
Then you take into account the discounts you can get with Eliseparts, various specialists, Lotus on Track etc. etc. and you're laughing.
SELOC is an international club and the forums are excellent. Regional forums exist for all areas of the country with regional coordinators. Great club, good people (by and large) and definitely worth being a member of.
