I could probably search but recommendations might have changed....

I'd like a Bluetooth OBD adapter for my E61 mostly just to look at stuff but I'm thinking my battery is on it's last legs so rather than paying someone I wouldn't find fitting my own and using Carly to code it in.

I'm guessing I don't really need the official Carly one (£45) when some generic job of eBay would do? Anybody care to recommend?

Thanks.

To use Carly; you really do need to use their own adapter too

There are others out there that could work, some say they do work, but I know too many folk that have had them and they haven't done a great job and ended up forking out again for the genuine Carly adapter

There are 2 different ones, one for iOS wifi connection (IIRC) and the other for Android Bluetooth; make sure you buy the right one smile

Also; check on the Carly website before you buy it all to make sure what you want to do is listed, as not all cars that have Carly compatibility share the same coding possibilities (ie. I cannot register a new battery to my E65)!
